Watford 0-1 Wolves: Dicko denies Hornets a fourth successive win

first_img1 Watford’s play-off hopes suffered a blow as they were beaten 1-0 by Wolves at Vicarage Road.Nouha Dicko scored 10 minutes after the restart, converting Rajiv van La Parra’s cross to moves the visitors level on points with eighth-place Blackburn.Watford had won three consecutive games, but never looked like winning this one and only the goalkeeping of Heurelho Gomes kept the score level in the first half.Dave Edwards, Kortney Huase and Van La Parra were all denied by the Brazilian in the first 45 minutes.However, Bakary Sako should have put Wolves ahead when presented with a glorious opportunity 10 minutes before the break, but he shot wide after Gomes had charged off his line.When Dicko eventually broke the deadlock no one could have been surprised, but things looked up for Watford with the introduction of Odion Ighalo, who struck the bar twice towards the end.The Hornets remain in the hunt for promotion, though Wolves, Blackburn and Norwich are breathing  down their neck.
